Why single-agent architectures fail in supply chain

Supply chain disruptions are not single-task problems. How Temporal orchestrates the cascade
Temporal provides durable execution: if any step fails (a carrier portal is down, an email bounces, a facility system times out), the workflow retries with exponential backoff without losing state. The orchestration layer manages dependencies between agents: Alan cannot reschedule until Tracy has updated the Shipment Twin with the revised ETA, and Cassie should not notify the customer until Alan has confirmed the new appointment. These sequencing rules are encoded in the workflow definition, not in the agents themselves.
