The Challenge
Cracker Barrel faced costly trailer detention fees during seasonal peaks and had no data to resolve detention disputes with carriers. Without reliable ETAs, stores couldn't plan unload labor effectively.
Our Solution
Since 2018, Cracker Barrel has used FourKites for end-to-end visibility from the Port of Savannah to its DCs and stores. Dynamic Yard provides real-time visibility into trailer arrival, unload, and departure, giving Cracker Barrel hard data to resolve carrier disputes. Predicted ETAs flow directly to store managers via shareable URLs, and long-time carrier Averitt uses the same data to optimize routing and dynamic deliveries.
The Result
Cracker Barrel drove detention costs out of the network and improved peak-season throughput during its Christmas and Easter peaks. Store managers gained smarter labor planning and fielded fewer service calls thanks to ETAs shared directly with stores.
